Olga Sova

I live and work in Dubai, creating art at the intersection of dream and reality. My style, “Quiet Surrealism,” is all about attention to nuance, lines of silence, and depth that needs no loud words.
I studied at an art school and completed courses for decorative artists in Russia. For more than thirty years, I have travelled my artistic path, continually discovering new techniques, themes, and images.
I continue to grow and develop, learning from renowned artists online—regularly participating in courses and masterclasses with leading contemporary watercolor and mixed media masters.
In my work, I do not seek to tell stories as much as to create a space for inner reflection. Here, each viewer can hear their own meaning through the symbols, figures, and rituals that emerge on the border of memory and dream.

Artistic Journey

  1. 1970s–1980s

    A creative childhood

    Born in northern Russia and raised in a creative family, Olga was surrounded from the earliest years by drawing, colour and story. Her first exhibition space was the family kitchen wall.

  2. 1982–1987

    Formal education

    Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Art History and Composition — Noyabrsk, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, Tyumen Region, Russia.

  3. 2010s

    Move to Dubai

    A new life in Dubai opened a different palette: light, heat, the desert, the sea. Olga began to paint again with new urgency.

  4. 2015 onwards

    Master classes & a personal language

    Numerous master classes in watercolor and mixed media helped Olga crystallise a unique artistic language — surreal, poetic, deeply personal.

  5. 2023–2025

    Collections

    Eight distinct collections emerged, each exploring a different facet of the connection between nature, memory, imagination and the human figure.
